A number of insurers have recently lowered premium health insurance for 2017. This is remarkable because the deadline health insurance has already passed.
New reductions in premium health insurance
Starting this week, Good Lender reduced healthcare premium for 2017 by € 2.35. Today, insurers Salland and ZorgDirect came up with an increase in their collective discount from 6% to 8%. This discount is available for everyone (‘online convenience’) and therefore a premium reduction of € 2.26 per month.
As a result of these reductions, these insurers are increasing the number of places in the health insurance premium overview.
Premium reduction during care season
These reductions in premium health insurance are striking because the ‘health care season’ is in full swing. The health insurers have until 19 November to announce their premium health insurance for next year. After that, consumers can compare the health insurance premiums until 1 January and possibly switch to a new health insurer.
Both reductions are brought as ‘good news’ by health insurers. If you are a client of these insurers and you have not yet chosen your health insurance policy for next year, then this is indeed positive.
However, if you have already chosen your health insurance for 2017, then these reductions are less positive.
- Perhaps you were a client of Good Lender or Salland and you switched while this was currently not necessary.
- It also creates uncertainty for consumers because they do not know whether there will be more premium reductions.
License for other health insurers
These premium reductions can be licensed for other health insurers to do the same. Good Lender, have not been called back by anyone yet. What does other health care insurers have to adjust their premiums and get just a little higher in the health insurance premium overview?
In that case it is better to wait until December 31 to record the best health insurance premium. The great thing about the current agreement and deadline is that consumers have ample time to compare and choose healthcare insurance for next year.
